Ever wonder what a day in the life of running Gifts of Distinction looks like? It’s equal parts organisation, creativity, and a little chaos, with a lot of joy sprinkled in.
Morning Madness
I wake up at the same time every day, like clockwork, and pretend I didn’t hit snooze twice. A refreshing shower jolts me awake, breakfast fuels me, and I pack my husband’s lunch because that’s part of my “multi-tasking superhero” persona.
By the time I start work, I’m buzzing with excitement, because it’s a Gifts of Distinction kind of day. I dive into emails, check orders, and get everything underway. Planning and scheduling are my secret weapons: making sure every curated gift, ribbon, and card lands perfectly for our clients’ big moments. My to-do list looks long, but that’s just part of the thrill.
Midday Mayhem
Lunch is supposed to be a break, but most days it’s a multitasking sandwich: check stock, answer a client, taste-test chocolate (quality control, obviously). Nuts, fruit, and a lot of water keep me from collapsing under the weight of perfectionism.
Afternoon Adventures
Marketing prep, inventory checks, and ensuring every gift box is Instagram-worthy. Fresh flowers? Check. Scented candle? Check. Meticulous ribbon placement? Double check. Every detail matters because someone’s celebration is riding on my ability to tie a perfect bow without losing my mind. Minor disasters happen: chocolate melts, cards go missing, glue sticks rebel, but that’s part of the thrill.
Reflection (and Survival)
Some days feel like magic: boxes packed, clients delighted, office smelling like a boutique florist. Other days… well, let’s just say I’ve bonded with my emergency chocolate stash more than I’d like to admit. Still, every bow tied, every artisan treat included, and every happy client reminds me why I do this. Tomorrow? Same circus, new day, more flowers, and maybe, just maybe, an uninterrupted lunch.
Running Gifts of Distinction is both challenging and incredibly rewarding. Some days everything clicks; other days, the little disasters keep life interesting. But every perfectly tied bow, every thoughtfully chosen treat, and every happy client makes it worth it. Tomorrow brings new boxes, new opportunities, and hopefully, a lunch that doesn’t involve my inbox.
