A Thing of Beauty.

A Thing of Beauty.

Well, we are back into the year well and truly!  I wanted to take some time to share a small but significant part of my holiday experience with you.

The Abel Tasman is a soul stirring place of beauty and utter peace.  Hiking through the varied and stunning landscape one could only feel wonderment at the stunning scenery along the way.

Our journey was at times challenging yet so very rewarding.  We meandered well tended and walked paths along the coastline, then cut back into natural bush surrounds. Zig zagging up and down hills it felt like we were at the top of the world at times as we walked abreast Manuka treetops.

Tired and somewhat a little worse for wear at the end of the 5-day hike, I reflected on my reason for making the effort.  It was a special time to be with family and friends.  To enjoy how everyone laughed so readily, smiled reassuringly and offered encouragement during moments of weakness, shared, helped out when needed, the special moments of quiet contemplation and special moments of bonding as you chatted together along the way. It was the beauty of nature and the beauty of those I had the opportunity to share it with that made it all worthwhile!   Family. A thing of great beauty.
